Nathan the prophet confronted David about his sin with Bath-sheba. David confessed his sin and repented. David prayed, “Have mercy upon me, O God. Wash me from my iniquity, cleanse me from my sin. Create in me a clean heart. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation.” (Psalm 51).
The Bible says “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) So we all need forgiveness, too. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (I John 1:9)
On the soccer field and in life, we need forgiveness, love, and encouragement. Let your teammates know that you are their friend and you care about them. And remember that Jesus is your best friend; he loves you and cares for you most of all.
Memory Verse:
“…he careth for you.” - I Peter 5:7
