King’s Warriors Soccer Club
Futsal, 2024-2025

The King’s Warriors Soccer Club will begin indoor soccer training at the Countryside Baptist Church gymnasium on Monday, December 2. Practice will be held each Monday and Thursday unless otherwise announced.

 

We will offer an after school program for 2nd-8th graders. Players from Summers Co. schools can ride bus #114 from Summers Comprehensive School, Hinton Area Elementary, or Talcott Elementary. They can get off the bus at the church gym where coaches will be waiting. Players must bring a note from home requesting bus #114 and drop off location at Countryside Baptist Church in Forest Hill (you may write a note giving permission on soccer practice days, Mondays and Thursdays, for the year BUT please speak with your principals first to confirm those details). Players may bring snacks or water to have before practice, or may purchase these at the gym (bottled water and packaged cheese or peanut butter crackers will be offered; each item is $0.50).

 

2nd-8th graders will practice from 4:15-5:45. Varsity and adult players will practice from 6:00-8:00. If players want to participate in just the Monday and Thursday training sessions, the cost is $25 for the season. For high school and older middle school players who want to play competitively in the Southern West Virginia Futsal League, the charge is $50/player for the season. All practices and games will be at the gym at Forest Hill.

Our Philosophy in Scripture

KING - We serve the King of kings.

                The Lord is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting King.  Jeremiah 10:10.

WARRIORS – We are called to stand and fight for truth in a dark and dying world.

                 .…a time of war, and a time of peace.  Ecclesiastes 3:8.

                He gathered…chosen men, which were warriors, to fight….  II Chronicles 11:1.

                No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who has chosen

                him to be a soldier.  II Timothy 2:4.

                Let the high praises of God be in their mouth and a two-edged sword in their hand...  Psalm 149:6.

                For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.

                II Corinthians 10:4.

SOCCER (sports) – God frequently used sports metaphors to convey a message.

                He will surely…toss thee like a ball.  Isaiah 22:18.

                Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.

                I Corinthians 9:24.

                Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the

                Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they

                shall walk; and not faint.  Isaiah 40:30, 31.

CLUB – We need each other.

             Two are better than one…For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow…And if one prevail against him, two

             shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.  Ecclesiastes 4:9, 10, 12.

             When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up.  Jeremiah 22:29.

             By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.  John 13:35.

             Show mercy and compassions every man to his brother.  Zechariah 7:9.

             He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to

             love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?  Micah 6:8.

             If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all. And he took a child, and set him

             in the midst of them: and when he had taken him in his arms, he said unto them, Whosoever shall receive one of
