King’s Warriors Win Double-Header

The Ripley Soccer Club, from Ripley, WV, traveled to Summers County to take on the King’s Warriors on Saturday, May 18. It was the first meeting between the two clubs, and it was surely a hot day for the games.

Ripley only had nine players that could make the trip, so the Warriors played down with an equal number. This opened the field up a lot for the Warriors’ passing game, which proved to be overwhelming for the Ripley club. The home side cruised to a 5-0 win in the first game, with goals from Aaron Smith, Andrew Smith, Eli Blevins, and a brace from Caleb Okes.

After a short break, the two teams took the field again. The King’s Warriors took the opportunity to give several of their younger players a lot of playing time. The Warriors again came out with the win, but by a much closer margin. The 4-2 win was posted on the strength goals from Eli Blevins, Justin Young, and a brace from Chance Blevins.

The King’s Warriors will wrap up their regular season with a home game against Pochahontas County Soccer Club this Saturday, May 25, at 1:00pm.
