King’s Warriors Soccer Club Hosts Missions Night

On Saturday, February 8, the King’s Warriors Soccer Club hosted a “missions night” for their players and guests. Our guest of honor was Carter Robbins from Greensboro, NC. Carter played professionally for four years with the King’s Warriors PDL team, and holds the distinction of scoring their first goal in their first game in 2012. He played collegiately for Messiah College in Pennsylvania and helped lead them to two NCAA Div. III National Championships during his time there.

Carter is now in full time mission work with Missionary Athletes International and Imago Dei Soccer, working primarily in the Piedmont Triad area (Greensboro, High Point, Winston-Salem) of North Carolina. His ministry runs coaching clinics, camps, tours, and teams, using the platform of soccer to share the love and gospel of Jesus Christ with others.

Through soccer, Carter has had the opportunity to visit many countries on four continents. One of his favorite places is Medellin, Columbia, where he partners with the Christian Union Sports Club. Carter will be leading a group of young men there this summer. The team will include four King’s Warriors Soccer Club players – Andrew Smith, Isaac Beckett, Eli Blevins, and Chance Blevins. They will be working with under privileged youth in the area, assisting with soccer clinics, playing in matches, and helping the ministry in any way needed while there. They are presently raising support for their trip. If you would like to help sponsor these players, please go to imagodeisoccer.com/colombia, click on “support a team member,” then click on the player or players you’d like to support. Thank you for your interest.
